Prices are all over the place. What might be a $3000 car is say Florida could be a $6000 car in Washington.
Your local craigslist is a good place to do some research,see what's there and how fast it sells,of course knowing asking price and selling price are not usually the same the asking price.This can take some time however so if you are in a hurry good luck,another ball park is ebay and you can research prior sales there.
There are quite a few sites on the web selling cars,do a google search on your make year model for sale.
