why wont my 3.1 stay running?
ok i just bought this camaro yesterday and it dosent stay running. after a lot of sputtering and dying i got it to idle for a few minutes giving it gas when i felt like it i took it up my drive and it stalled, i got it fired back up and brought it back and parked it. I let it idle it idle for about 15 mins before it died. it has a brand new fuel pump and fuel filter. what do you all think? thanks feedback is much appreciated!

Not giving much help here... Is it carburated or FI?
It's really hard to say with minimal information. My best guess would be maybe a vacuum leak or possibly it needs to plugs, wires, dist cap, and rotor? It's really hard to say. Does it sound like the engine is backfiring/misfiring? Or when it idles does it seem to sound normal?

check the fuel filter again. it may have done its job and caught a big hunk of whatever and is restricting flow. definately follow all the vacuum lines to make sure they are connected. and check your fuel, it may sound stupid but check to see if you have any kind of contamination in your fuel. ie water, dirt, rust, plants etc etc. check your ignition system as well, plugs wires everything on the distributor. remember, for a car to run and stay running it needs a constant 4 things. air, fuel, spark, compression. you cant be missing one at any given time or the car will shut off. with that as a bassis, start crossing things off.

it is a 1990 so its fuel injected the plugs and wires are supposedly new. when it idles it nearly quits and then perks back up for a few seconds before it goes back to nearly quiting very rough idleing. i have no idea about the fuel and had thought of siphoning as much out as i could and putting fresh fuel in if it isnt pouring rain tomorrow ill try that

definately take a look around for vacuum leaks, listen real hard for any major sucking sound. and take a look under the distributor cap for corosion or any other kind of damage.

if your car is throwing off an engine code try checkin what ever the code is. now if you dont know how to chek the codes ill tell you. also check that its not an electrical problem. if your fuselinks (next to your battery) are corroded, which they probably are, your computer might not be getting enough volts to it. that will always cause your car to bog out chug backfire and sputter.and dont push your car to much cuz pending on the miles you could strech your timing chain. but you might also need a new distributor cap and rotor. last thing what kind of fi do you have?
