Default Wanting a camaro! Read!

Yeah, so right now I own a lightly modded 1995 cougar XR7. Lately I have been wanting a more powerful V8, but can only spend what I make offa selling my cougar. Any more modifications to make my car faster would cost more then I am willing to pay (I'm stuck in the 15s...) I have always liked the look and speed of camaros (my uncle owned a 60s SS), particuarly the third generation ones. I know nothing about camaros and have never known any one that owned an 80s (all the camaro drivers I ever met were complete ***holes, but im sure you all are exceptions ).

So could you all tell me what to look for in buying a new camaro. You know...commen problems, cost and everything. Id also like to know perfomance specs. Can I get a decent V8 'maro for $4000 or less? I'll appreciate any feedback.

BTW, i am thinking about an RS but im not sure.

-Thanks!

Default RE: Wanting a camaro! Read!

Well first I would make sure the engine runs sound. I just bought mine and I had a mechanic with me, so Im not sure how everything is supposed to run. I would check for rust and rot. Check the floor pans, under the rear of the car, and everything else under the car. You dont want a car with a rotted out floor. my friends dad has an 88 monte ss that was decent until he let it go to hell, and went to get into his car and the floor pans gave. Well it all depends if you want a car that has no problems as to one you can work on a little bit. Also make sure that everything electrical works.
