Default Valve lash adjustment/roller rocker question?

Guys, I just finished the valve seals on my 1 and 3 cylinders....could somebody gimme a quick rundown on how to adjust lash on a cold engine? Ive got the general idea but wann see if anybody has a better way or can explain it better.

Secondly, if I install roller rockers, do I just do a rocker swap or do I need other parts? (pushrods, guideplates etc?) Also, Ive read they add about 30 hp which would be nice. However, like every other add on part, I find the HP gain is often over rated.....(Those stupid azz muffler tips all those kids put on their cars claim to add 15-20 hp!)

Are you using solid or hydraulic lifters?

Engine on #1 power stroke. Loosen the rockers and turn until there is zero lash in the pushrod and turn the nut 1 1/2 additional turns. Adjust 1,3,4,8 exhaust and 1,2,5,7 intake. Rotate the engine 180 degree and adjust the remaining valves.

If you are going to use the steel stampedroller tipped rockers then you do not need anything else. If you are using a full roller then you need to have screw in rocker studs instead of the pressed in kind. Unless some one makes a full roller rocker for the pressed in studs now.

Pwerstroke? As in TDC? Any good way to determine? I only pulled the 1 and 3 rockers, so do I need to even touch the other side?

The power strokestarts when the piston is at TDCand both valves are closed. Keep in mind that the piston can be at TDC on the power stroke and also at the beginning of the intake stroke when the exhaust valve is in the closing cycle and the intake valve is in the opening cycle.
