Oh, now those help. That canister with the cable is your cruise control. The mystery cable end is supposed to connect to the carb. Is that the canister we've been talking about? I thought you were messing with the one to the right in the picture, the Evap can. It's all clear as mud now!

Other than it affecting the way the engine runs when you cork the hose. That would mean that hose is a vacuum leak.

where should that hose connect?

It doesn't show in the pictures, but about a foot or so beyond the cruise control servo, closer to the engine and about even with the windshield washer reservoir, you should have a transducer assembly that the speedo cable attaches to. That unit has vacuum lines connected to it, is that part there?

hmmmm not sure... will check in a few mins though... i know when i found it, it was hanging down by the firewall and is wrapped around the back of the brake booster and then it drops by the firewall... and just checked and there isnt any kinda assembly for vacuum hoses to hook to
