alright this morning i go to leave my house and it goes into reverse fine and then i put it in drive and it starts to go and then it just wont shift into second, so i stopped and but it in park and back into drive and then it shifts perfect all day. then again when i left work it did it but instead of puting it into park i started shifting manauly from first to drive and it started working and shifting fine. i checked the belts and fluid is perfect and doesnt smell burnt at all, so im just wondering is this the end of the tranny or is it something that could be fixed? (and its a turbo 350 tranns)

 

Probably the shift linkage is wearing out & may need adjustment.

Has the fluid ever been changed or flushed? You could have some crud stuck into a circuit of your valve body.
