Default Rear end and trans shif questions

Just got the 87 back from the differential shop yesterday (went from 2.37 to 3.73) and noticed a couple of things.

1st. It will pull way harder.
2nd. My transmission seems to shift faster, softer with the shift points fairly close. As if it just wants to get into OD as fast as possible.

3rd. The diff shop said the speedo is off by 25%....not a biggie

4th. If you drive it a little harder, the trans shifts the same as ever, just under very easy driving do you notice the soft stacked type shifting.

To explain the shift points before vs. after.
Before:
1-2 17 MPH
2-3 35
3-4 around 50

After:
1-2 11ish
2-3 30ish
3-4 47 ish Note this is being read on a non corrected speedo.

I'm just a little stumped on why it feels this way, any ideas???

Because the transmission shifts based on rpm's, and the relationship between engine speed and transmission speed is still the same. But because of the lower rear gears, the car is now traveling at a slower road speed at those same rpm's. Make sense?

It does and I figured that, I also noticed that the TV cable seemed to have streched maybe 3-4 mm's that also doesn't help. I really just need to get the speedo corrected (parts on order) so I can get used to that sensation. It really lets the motor (cam) and convertor do its job so much better, its a real hoot to drive. I'm taking it easy as to not ruin the clutches on the posi, but its pretty hard to do that for another 950 miles....I've only put 500 on it since late july...

TV cable seemed to have stretched? Have you reset it just for fun?

I did reset it, it helped and once I get the speedo gear in I'll be back in business. I'd like to know why it streched though. 4mm is enough to make it feel off.

Do you mean that the cable actually stretched (which I kinda find unlikely as there isn't that much pressure on the throttle valve). Or is it possible the ratchet slid more? How exactly did you set the TV cable?

you can also get a governor recalibration for the trans if you would like it to shift at a higher rpm

I have the edelbrock corrector, likage, and brackets. The geometry is correct per the PATC write ups. It is fully extended on WOT. Pedal WOT and hand operation of the linkage appear to the congruent.
