No idea what engine i have, how do i set timing?

answer post #9/ which is mine on the timing tab. if you are using the wrong timing tab it will never be timed right.
1. did you remove a carb intake and swap another one?
2. or did you swap a fuel injection inake for a carb.

if #1 do what i said in post #9.
if it was carbed before then find tdc and restab the dizzy and retry it all again,.

Well, i set it so the groove is about 2 inches from the right of the timing tab and the engine is now running smoother than it ever has and a noticeable power increase, i guess something was messed up when the rebuild was done because it runs like its on 5 clyinders when the groove is anywhere near the timing tab.

All is good now though, thanks for all the advice, really is appreciated.

well if you want it to be precise then go to the link in post#9. that way you can get it dialed in perfectly.
