posi 7.5 from an 86 v8. are they 26 spline?

 

26 spline axle shafts for that year. Mid 1989 was the change over to 28 splines and was not completed until 1990 models.

 

any particular way to know other than pulling the shafts or diff cover? a code or something?

 

anything before 1990 (for sure) models are 26 spline axle shafts. Thats is it.[sm=chairshot.gif]

 

well this kinda threw me off, so i was askin. the way you are saying it here says that about the middle of 89 they started the change, but it wasnt on ALL of them untill 90. Maybe YOU should be a bit more clear on your info then.

your postCLEARLY stated that the changed started mid year, and was not in full effect untill 90. From what i, and im sure many others, gather from this is that the changed started to be done on cars some month in 89. I dont know what it is you got against the world man. but damn...
