99 V6 Camaro(automatic, stock) vs 91 Nissan 300ZX(manual, stock?)l
I haven't raced anyone in a while, even just a short race from a light, I mean I do drive a V6. But I was leaving work(Wal-Mart) and I see this really nice looking 300ZX leaving the parking lot, I'm not exatly sure of the year, just know it was early 90's model. So with the day I had I figured I'd try and catch up with him and it would be a good race since we both have V6's. I'll leave the 300ZX twin turbo to you V8 boys. I got beside him on the highway through town and it wasn't a few seconds before he was gooseing it. With the speed limit being 35 and cops drive here all the time there wasn't a whole lot we could do. We were rolling from about 15mph and we both hit the gas. I jumped out in front of him by about a fender length. By the time I hit 50 and shut it down he had pulled ahead by maybe half a fender length. So then we get to a light. Off the line we were dead even, when he hit second he jumped out in front by a fender length. I started to pull on him and when I shut it down at 55 I was ahead by about a half a fender. After that we hit some traffic and I got ahead of him. I think he wanted some more because I could see him going in and out of traffic trying to catch up to me. I would have liked to take it somewhere that we could have got up a little more speed but I waved a goodbye and turned to go home. I'm really not going to say I won but I think I would have continued to pull on him, it was a good race though. The specs on those cars say 222hp plus it was a manual compared to my 200hp automatic, so I think I did pretty good.
Never let up on the Jap cars. Make the kill real, even if it takes a ticket. We need to help reestablish American cars to drive out the Jap cars.

it was a real close race. it was pretty much a drivers race. but if i am not mistaking depending on the year of that 300zx top out at 140mph. and the 99 camaro v6 top out at 120. so he probaly would have gotten you on the top end if he push his car to that limit.
u r a little scary cobra, sounds like you love cars....and might have some war flashbacks. All i'm saying is PTSD is no joke!! lol
Hope i never run into you at a light in my Mitsi Lancer

He might have beat me in the end, but I wouldn't go that fast on the street to find out anyway. I think mostly why I ran him is because I've always liked the 300ZX's and wondered what they had in the performance depatrtment. Now I need to find one thats a twin turbo and see how bad he beats me. Man I can't wait to get out of school and buy an SS.
