Default High Idle

I just replaced my thermostat, hoses & coolant. Engine temp comes up normal. Heater works fine now. But I can't get the carb to set back to a low idle even after its up to operating temp. I have made no adjustments to the carb.84 Z28, 305, carb, auto. Prior to this work it would set back to a low idle after warming up. Any ideas or comments? thanks.

Are you sure you got a thermostat with the right temp range.

Great question. I'll have to double check that. Thanks.

there are quite a few lines around the thermostat housing. I was pretty careful to re-connect, but I will double check. Thanks for the input. What is the proper operating temp for the thermostat?
