Default Help with Engine, Please!!!

Hey, I'm new to the forums. I have a '91 3.1L V6 and can't get it started. It died on me while I was driving on a highway. The engine is getting fuel and the Plugs are firing but won't start up. Can anyone explain how to read the codes that is not as vague as the FAQ? My "Check Engine" light flashes but I don't understand what code it coresponds too.

This is what it does: Flash, Pause, Flash Flash; F,P,FF; F,P,FF; F,P,FFF; F,P,FFF; F,P,FFF; then it starts with the two flashes like the beginning and repeats, then repeats the 3 flashes, and this sequence repeatsover and over. That is the part I don't understand. Thanks for your help

okay well the 12 flash is a no refrence pulse if i remember correctly...13 means o2 sensor is staying lean.....which doesn't help....enless it is running so lean that its not getting gas....so next question is where did you check to make sure you had gas?.....if you just smelt u might want to check again...might be the sorce of your problem... just for refrence online for codes at this site http://www.thirdgen.org/service-engi...ht-error-codes

I pressed the nozzle behind the engine where you can attach a fuel pressure gauge. Also, after trying to crank the engine, I pulled the plugs out and they were moist with fuel.

I think it might be the crankshaft sensor. Does anyone know where it is located on the engine? I can't seem to find it

Go to an auto parts store and rent an ACTRON OBDII reader. What a great tool, I purchased one awhile ago and would not be with out it. It will tell you (in english) and code # what is going on.
