Default heater, AC, & starting the car

I have a 1992 3.1 V6. My Heater has been bypassed and and I want to get it back worink again. I also need to get my air conditioning going. I think it just needs refridgerant, but I dont know if I have any leaks. I dont want to put any in and there to be a leak, so how would I check that. I need to get the air condition and heater working before Jan 31st. Also my car doesnt start on the 1st time I turn the key, but it does on the second time. Whats up with that.

I suspect the heater was bypassed because it was leaking. Try recharging your AC, if it leaks you'll soon find out, otherwise go to an AC shop where they have the tools to check for leaks. Your AC system uses R12 which is no longer made, so what is left is very expensive. The good thing is that there are substitutes such as Freeze 12 available. Do not use the new R134a without first draining all the lubricants out of the system, otherwise they turn into jelly. Also the system will need to have some valves upgraded. Stay with the substitute stuff and avoid all the hassles.

Your starting problem is probably caused by the FI system not holding pressure. Could be due to a leaky injector, bad pressure regulator, or bad check valve in the fuel pump. Simple fix, turn the key on & off several times without starting the engine. This will prime the system and it should start on the first try.

I was looking at my car and i think i figured how un bypass my heater, but im not a 100% sure. In the middle of underneath my hood their is two things that looks like hoses would go on them. In front of that is 2 hoses that are atached to a t shaped thing and its plugged on the other side. If thats it is all that i got to do is take the 2 hoses out of the tee and put it on the 2 things thats in the middle underneath my hood.
