Default fuel question

Hey guys, I'm still pretty new to Camaros, so any help you could give me would be great. I have an 86 plain jane Camaro. I'm putting a carb'd 350 in it and I have a question about the fuel delivery. Would it be better just to run the electric pump anda fuel pressure regulator or a mechanical fuel pump? I know I have to run a return line off the carb, where would I run that into the tank? thanks again for the help

i would run the factory pump with a regulator that has a built in return, you need hook the regulator to the factory return line , the car will have one because the EFI had a regulator (big line feed , small line return) , if you just put a regulator on it with no return it is VERY hard on fuel pumps. the regulators with a return allow the pump to pump all the fuel it wants but some fuel just goes back to the tank. if you put a mechanical pump on it with the electric pump still on the car , the mechanical pump will have to pull fuel through the pump , and i have seen some pumps that will not flow through , they actually stop the fuel from flowing.

Awesome, thanks for the help. I just wish the car was a little further ahead than what it is, but oh well. It'll get done eventually
