Faded Steering Wheel

The interior of my 87 Iroc is near perfect, however the leather steering wheel is faded. Anyone dyed theirs with just shoe polish leather dye? Any other recommendations? Thanks

Black leather dye will restore the color, but not the 'luster' of leather. I did it to mine a while back. Better than looking at that old crusty dried up leather.
