I'm going to put a 350 into my Camaro that has a 2.8. Is the 5 speed transmission that came with the 2.8 strong enough for 250 to 300 horsepower or should I change to a 700R4 or Turbo 350?

 

I do believe that the 2.8's bellhouse is all part of the gear box so it will not fit a V8 due to it being for a 60 degree V6 and since it is all one piece you can not change the bell house.

 

just in case you get a t5 to fit your 350, i have one on mine, and im running probably 280 or so, maybe a little more, but i dont think i would go much higher than that. If your plannin on havin some big horses under the hood get ahold of a t56, they are buildt much stronger and have a 6th gear for some extra fun
