hey i have a 92 rs tbi stick and i would like to upgrade everything from the headers back. i dont know exactly what to order or what goes inbetween headers and the mufflers and idk... could someone explain the order of things coming out of the engine, then give me some good products that could total around $1000. i was looking at hooker 1 5/8 headers and a 3" flowmaster american exhaust but is there more i need?

i slapped a set of hooker super comp shorties on mine. They are 1 5/8 like you say as well with a 3 inch collector. Depending on your state laws and your own personal opinion, you may need a catalitic converter as well. I put a magnaflow high flow cat on mine. only costs about 90 bucks. You can get in inlet and outlet in various sizes as well, naturally a 3 inch cat is what i bought. But after the cat its just a pipe runnin down the center of the car, over the rear end, to your muffler. I also bought a flowmaster 40 series muffler. The combo of all my exhaust sounds amazeing and brought me up a good 20-25 horse,,, costs around a grand. Good luck

yea, thats what i did with mine actually. The headers came with a y-pipe that i installed myself and i also put the cat on. But i went to a local place to get the custom exhaust put on. Thing about the premade stuff is that if your not running close to what they have measured. then its not gona work. im guessing that they made that cat back exhaust there using the stock cat and everything. Mine wasnt the same when i put my new cat on so. It just depends on how they made that i suppose.
