Take a look at the GM ZZ4 tripower carb engine at Pace performance. Might be a easier installation then the LS7.

the first one is a ZZ4, just with better heads and a bigger cam

now personally, i'd go with the 454 HO, just because i love bb cars

those ZZ4's are pretty potent little motors from what i understand of them. If your looking for bang for the buck.. stick with a SBC and build it up. for several reasons ( all just my opinion)

Easy to install- While the LS series isnt difficult, i THINK it needs different motor mounts, and im pretty sure the brace that goes under the tranny needs to be moved and replaced.

CHEAP- you can get a SBC and build it up to have better specs than the LS series ( might not be as reliable, but it can be done)

Keeps a... more stock look- While it probably wont look anything like what the 305 or 350 looked like in the third gens. the LS looks nothing like the SBC. However it would be really sweet to open the hood and see that sitting there.

I wouldnt go spending the entirety of your budget on your engine alone. Your going to encounter problems while installing. Gaurenteed, its on the box. lol.

I think. but dont know, that youll need to change the bell housing on the t-5 to fit the LS series as well, if they even have one. If not, then you can find a 4th gen SS or Z and snag that transmission too.

thats just my eh. well i guess thats my 5 bucks, not so much my 2 cents.
