So are you guys saying that if conversion to carb is made and you unplug the ecm would you have tranny problems or not? I always thought the tranny would be fine.

idkI thought that there was a tcu for the tranny. But if youunplug the ecmidk how the tranny will know when to shift without the ecm, i know that the tcu would tell the tranny when shift but does the ecm tell the tcu things???

Thats why I got a Camaro in the first place. After years of driving Mopars ( love em but parts are scarce) and a few imports as daily drivers ( each year of the same model has a different part number) I wanted to get a small block chevy. Heres a hint. Go to your local parts store and find the 'performance' isle. I promise you that 95 % of everything there is labeled as "Small block Chevy" Nuts and Bolts,carbs,exhaust,cams, they all fit. Its a great thing!

Getting rid of the ecm you will also need an non computer controled distributer and there is a unit for about 70-80 bucks for the trans Torque Converter Clutch.(TCC)
