Default Emissions question

I checked the rules for Virginia and a vehicle has to be over 25 years old to be exempt from emissions testing. So this leaves me with the only option of an 82, which severely limits my options. Can a 83 or newer third gen pass emissions with a carb and straight exhaust with no cats or emissions equipment? Assuming it's jetted properly and the ignition is set up well.

Default RE: Emissions question

might pass emissions, depends... but it wont pass the safety inspection. part of the safety inspection is a visual check of ALL emissions equipment. That dosent mean you cant gut the cat though... lol. Check with your laws though, AS OF right now, i need to be able to pass emissions, but once september rolls around, i wont have to anymore, but i will still need to pass safety inspecionts.
