Wink 95 Z28- Emissions Question

As of about a year ago, Massachusetts stopped requiring emissions testing one pre 1996 model year vehicles. So, I have recently thought about doing away with the emissions control systems on my car- but I dont want to drive around with an SES light on all the time. What is involved in removing this stuff properly? I was going to start by removing the cat and putting in an ORY and shorty headers (no LTs due to ground clearance issues), is there an 02 sensor that I have to purchase a simulator for? Also, is there even much to be gained by removing the under hood emissions equipment? I will get shorties with provisions for the emissions equipment if there isnt much to be gained by removing it...

Are you really sure. Mass is pretty much like CA & NY regarding emission testing. The need for sniffer testing for 96 is no longer necessary because of OBDII. Your car is OBDI and requires sniffer testing. Because it is OBDI there will be no SES lite going on if you do away with the cat, but you will get a light if you mess with the EGR and other emission stuff.
