Default disabling the airbag sensor?

I was in a minor fender bender Yesterday in my 91 Rs, and I was wondering how to disable the airbag, and if there is a safety switch that needs to be reset.

Why do you want to do that?

If you have an airbag light on and none deployed and worried about the bag popping just unplug the yellow connector at the bottom of the column and while sitting in the seat like normal put a piece of black electrical tape over the light.
The light is designed to be on if there is any problem detected. Like a wire unplugged. If the light is on after your accident but no bad deployed there is a chance that only one sensor worked and may need replacing.
