Default '91 - disabling the compressor?

Can someone help me with how I can get under my hood and temporarily disable the compressor, so thaat when I turn the the air on inside the car, it doesnt come on?

I am NOT looking to remove the fuse; the fuse must stay in so that the fan motor kicks on.

Thanks for any advice!

Disconnect the wiring from the compressor. How come you don't want it to come on though?

or unplug the wire from the accumulator. huh?????

yup, if there isn't refrigerant detected the circuit remains open and no 12 volts goes to the compressor

Thanks for the replies. Disconnecting the wiring from the compressor did the trick.
