does it drive normal other than it wont idle? when you first step on the gas to drive, does it hesitate or surge? im thinking it could be the iac valve is stuck shut. based on your user name, im assuming its a tpi engine?

 

it does surge some and its a tpi ill have to give that a try

my iac valve was stuck partly open by carbon. it would idle fine, but wouldnt idle below 900 rpm. whenever i got off the gas on the highway it would shut off. theyre not expensive to replace, but i suggest removing the throttle body and cleaning it if you see any amount of carbon build up
