Can't get Sepentine belt on, need help?

Can't get Sepentine belt on, need help?

I have a 88' RS with 305. Is there a secret to getting the serpentine belt on? It seems 2 inches to short. Any help greatly appreciated.

Did you get a 1/2" breaker bar onto the tensioner, and pull it back away from the belt as far as it will go?

sometimes the tensioner will only easily travel so far and needs some good force to move it back. or you got the wrong belt
