Default serp belt to v belt conversion

is there any possible way to eliminate the gaudy factory serp belt setup on a 92 and use a v belt instead
fyi: reasons for asking are
i am building the car mainly for drag race use with very littile street use so all i'll be pulling are the alternator, p/s pump and water pump
and the engine i'll be using is a built 383 that's in an 80 berlinetta

thanks

Piece of cake. Just take engine from Berlinetta and drop in your RS with all the v-belts that are allready on it
Why not get rid of P/S also if just mostly drag car??

Your current serpentine drive water pump is reverse rotation, so be sure to use a clockwise pump for a v-belt application.

i was hoping it could be done because the water pump, alternator and p/s pump are all new on the berlinetta so that's why i wanted to sit evertthing in like it was
plus the berlinatta has a built th350 trans in it to boot

the alt is mounted differently, so some alterations to the wiring will need to be done. if you are transferring everything over from the berlinetta, that will work. however if you plan on using the th350, it will not work unless you make or buy a crossmember to work with it, possibly a longer or different driveshaft, you will need a provision for the torque arm, and your speedometer wont work. if it is going to see any street use, you will need a working speedo
