92 camaro engine problems
I just bought a 92 camaro rs the original 305 was replaced. The guy I bought it from said it had a rebuilt 350 with a mild cam. The car has the original intake and TBI set up. the car runs good down the road its when I stop at a red light for a minute or two it idled up and down (surges) I have to put it in neutral and give it some gas or it tries to die. I know my engine light works and My engine light had not came on either. I was told the cam is throwing the computer off. Any help will be appreciated.

could have it tuned at a place like pcmforless or lt1pcmtuning. try to find out what cam numbers are. tuner will need to know to get it as good as he can. may already have a tune, check to see if it has a chip in the ecm.

Thanks for your help. There is a place that programs car but they said mine is to old. I don't know a lot bout cams but I did find out this bout the motor it's a (luntai 450/460 lift 224 at 50 duration). Also it's a 4 bolt main 350 bored 30 over w/ flat top piston. I will see if there is a place close that will program older cars. I was told to swap to a carb but I got to see what that entails. Once again thanks for your information.

If you have the original TBI it is going to be a limiting factor in HP. Your 350 should have a 600-670 CFM system and your TBI is only 450 CFM. I will choke some HP from your 350.
I would research the crap out it. I think the first thing you need to know is this a Programmable ECM or is it PROM (Programmable Read ONLY Memory) AKA a Chip. Chips are installed in the ECM, Programmable ECMs either need replaced or sent out for reprogrammed.
Harris Performance, INC | GM Fuel injection for the average guy

I have been slowly working on my 92 Camaro getting all the bugs worked out of it but now I ran into another problem ( I think). This is going to sound odd but when I unplug the Engine Temperature Control Sensor on top of the manifold the engine runs OK but when I plug the sensor back in, the TBI starts whistling really really loud and the engine does idle back up. Any help will be wonderful.

When you unplug the coolant sensor and the ECM drops that signal the ECM goes into LHM (Limp Home Mode). This is a basic set of parameters that ignore many of the sensors inputs. Normally in a case that the car runs better in LHM it means one of the sensors that is being ignored is not working right.(It may or may not be the one you unplugged). In your case it could be that one of the sensors is being push beyond it capability.
If you have a vacuum leak it will drive the computer crazy and cause all kinds of problem. Base on the noise described you have one. Search youtube for finding a vacuum leak. The whistling should be addressed first before you do anything else.
