Default carb problems or timing problems???

so i took my 67 out today. my car showed a quarter tank but it died. i thought i ran out of gas so i got it toabout 6 gallons. on my way back home, the rpms started gettin lower so i threw it into neutral and it stood on. as soon as i threw it into drive it died. i took apart the front part of the carb and the gas in there drained. i was able to turn it on and everytime i came down to a stop sign it was ready to die so i had to run the stop signs to keep it from dying. i made it to my driveway and it died. it has a hard time startin up. i just got the timing done about a month ago and it ran strong. over time though, i noticed the idle kept dropping. do you think its a timing problem, a carb problem, or somethin else??? can someone help me out? its my daily driver and i love that car sooo much!

How old is your coil?
I've had that happen to me a couple of times with a bad coil. As the coil would heat up, and finally start to overheat, the engine would crap out.

Fuel pump? Fuel filter? Start with basics and it might turn out to be something simple.
