84 Chevy
I got a 84 Camero with a 305 it got a new intake timing chain and an aftermarket cam not sure of the size this engine spun a rod so I am putting a 350 down in it. Question is can I use the 305 cam in the 350 pretty sure there the same thing a small block Chevy

It will work, as in the car will run but the cam shaft design should be based on the CFM the motor requires and the air flow of the heads. The 305 does not need as much air flow as the 350. The heads are also different. You want to check with the Cam manufacture to make sure the design is recommended for a 350 and that the cams estimated HP rating is more that the 350 you have.
Example. A performance 305 cam may only make 280 HP at 5200 RPMs. A bone stock 350 out of a 69 SS is 295 HP at 5700 RPM. That would mean the stock 350 would have a larger cam profile then the “performance” 305 cam.
I used the SS example but most early 350 truck motor were at 300 hp area also. GM put the LT1 350 in a lot of cars/trucks from 70-71.
