IMO if you put the 305 cam in the 350, you will wind up with weak low end and weak top end.

A new OEM type cam & lifter kit can be bought for well under $ 100 in most cases, so get the right cam for Your engine 'cause You shouldn't use a used cam and lifters in a fresh engine. If You didn't keep the lifters in order for Their cam lobes then they're throw aways anyhow.

huh? i took out the push rods an the lifter but i left the valve/vlave springs an retainers in. so... the block i left alone.. the heads were milled but the block still i used. i changing all the gaskets. i left the oem cam (truck) in the block.

Then that would be good to use. Probably should put a new set of lifters in though, wouldn't hurt. Those cams make alot of low end torque and don't do too bad up high either.
