Default 83 crossfire injected V8 camaro gas mileage?

This guy wants to trade me his pretty clean looking and good running 83 z28 and its got 148k miles and pretty much all stock but in good shape and wouldnt need to pass DEQ
I'm just worried that it wont get that good of gas mileage with the V8. What do you guys think it will get city and freeway?

By yer description, it looks like a mildly worked 350. Id guess about 12 city, 17 highway. If you are worried about gas mileage, this car is not for you.

i averaged 22 with my 305 tpi, mainly country road driving, some traffic lights, etc... id expect you to get something near that much. the loud pedal is what controls the milage the most. the quieter you keep it, the better it is

If you are worried about gas mieage buy a small compact car with a 4cy manual tranny. A 20+ year high mileage car is not going to do it.

With my 83 Z28 and a very mild 350 (used to be a CFI car) I averaged 16-17 in town and was able to pull 22-23 MPG on the interstate at 70 mph on a regular basis. If I start romping on it my mileage would quickly drop to 10-12 MPG though.

If the 305 is healthy and the CFI system is operating properly, you should average 20mpg with mixed city and highway driving.

Do the trade. All original CFI cars are getting hard to come by. It used to be no one wanted them because CFI isn't the most reliable system put out, so owners would swap over to carbureted setups. Now, original CFI cars are worth more than a nice IROC-Z due to their rarity.
