Default crossfire update

Its been mom's dream to have a fully restored 82 camaro pace car with the crossfire injection and we had a complete crossfire injection intake but unfortunately she sold the injectors so I wondered is there some throttle bodies or carbs that I can make fit the crossfire intake and air filter assembly so it looks somewhat restored? I've also heard that crossfire really sucked. was it because of the crappy throttle bodies or the intake design?

It was the computer system itself. The system will work and make the car go but most guys (yes even some corvette guys) remove it. I think if you used a aftermarket computer system and had it custom tuned it would be dependable. The next downside is you are going to very limited in the HP it can make. Your going to max out 250 ish.

Parts should not be super hard to find. I have seen whole systems for under $200 on craigs list for months. They are more rare now but 20 years ago you could give them away.

Try to find a parts manual for the car, In 82 GM was very new to EFI, You could see if autozone carried a replacement. Once you have the part number just search that part number and see what else came with them and you would have a list of cars you could use to get them second hand.
Check Painless wiring harnesses to see if they have anything. You would have a tuff time finding a 32 year old wiring harness that would be dependable.

well after some research I found a 'renegade' crossfire intake from Ecklers (that supposedly makes 30 extra hp when tested on a 383) that has 2.25 bores for the throttle bodies. So I was thinking of having the throttle bodies bored out with an aftermarket computer. the cfm (that is claimed by the people who designed it) is supposedly 700cfm. So I think with that intake my max power that I can get out of the crossfire would be raised to around 350-400hp.
