if you want it to be a daily driver, i would avoid a head swap. id go with headers, a cam, lightweight valvetrain parts (rods, roller rockers, springs, valves), twin 52mm throttle body, air foil, and siamese the runners. and new fuel injectors. an aluminum rad will help reduce temps and weight as well. that all should be about $1500 and possibly 80 hp

microkid: thanks for the info! That makes sense, hate to keep asking questions but you seem to know about this, could i get some specs and/or links for some of these parts?
Thanks!

Would this throttle body work?

To siamese the runners, I asumme that has something to do w/ machining them? Not too familar with that term.

As for fuel injectors, what size would i need? Ive seen many different.

I looked for a while at summit and had a hard time finding the valvetrain parts.

Any info would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!

If it were me and your current 305 runs well, then i would buy a 350 small block and put your 305 heads on it. then you could invest the rest in a good intake and carb setup and have twice the power you do now.

The only thing is the cost of the engine can get one for $600, but then comes the $700+ for the swap....

how can i find specs for the possible 350? Its a 350 tpi from a 85 camaro, but i did my research and found that they didnt make 85s w/ 350's so either its a swap or possibly 86? I am also concerned about gas mileage, its my DD so it cant be a hog

Well I don't recommend the 350 swap if you want SOME gas mileage left.
