Default 305 Buildup

Okay right now i have the stock 305 tpi in my 85 trans am, only mod is the 3' dual cat back exhaust w/ the flowmaster 40's. This summer I want more power and will have about $1500 for the engine. I know everyone says get a 350, I looked into it could get one for $600, but then theres the swap cost. another around $700. So theres $1300 just on getting a stock 350. Or could use that $1300+ to build the 305?? The engine isnt the original to the car, previous owner blew then engine the one in now has about 70k on it so its not that old. I was thinking about getting a new cam, heads, intake manifold, headers, then an cold air intake. Any suggestions on what would work best together? This will still be my daily driver so the gas mileage cant be too low.

Thanks!

If you check summit some times they have cam/head/intake combos and if your going to keep smog equipment the edelbrock TES for your exhaust.

They have 3 kits for Chevy 5.0L but they are for carbs. It might have been foord[:'(] I saw the fuel injection comb fits for. Sorry, my bad.
If you shop with summit or jegs or whoever you might call and see if they put together a combo kit. I have had parts not show up on a summit search until I put in the actual part number.
