Default 1989 Camaro IROC-Z Exhuast Advice needed.

I just got a 1989 IROC-Z with the 350.. It has some power adders but i need to replace the rear quarters on it.. I just got it 4 days ago.. Im happy to be a member of the F-Bodys now.. Anyways my question is the car came with headers on it but im not sure what brand.. There is currently no exhuast on the car.. Ive heard you cant run true Dual Exhuast on these cars. Does anyone have headers on there 3rd gen and have a Exhuast they recomend? I dont know if i need like a Y coming off the headers and run a single pipe back to a Muffler or what to do.. Any advice will help.. Thanks all for reading..

Im running headers to magnaflow exhaust. It's just a cat back exhaust system, and if you do this, you will need a y pipe off the headers. Depending on where you live this will allow you to keep the stock catalytic converter for emissions. You can do true duals, but it will have to be done with modifications.

true duals creates a lot of clearence issues on an already low car. it is possible to route a y-pipe after the trans, but it sits low and requires custom fab. im assuming you dont have much experience working on cars or fabbing exhaust. if thats the case, i would suggest replacing the headers with new ones that come with a y-pipe. then you can run an off the shelf cat-back
