more exhuast advice.....
Hey i was lookin in JEGS...and saw a 2.25' Dia Tubing, 2.5' DOR, 80-Series Muffler, Force-II system with a 3.8 v6..would that sound pretty decent or not? what about american thunder??
Most chambered systems (like Flowmaster) will sound tinny and alittle raspy. I am a fan of Dynomax because it is a straight through desighn and has deep tone. Listen to other cars and ask the owners what system they have, but remember you a V6 so it will sound way different than a V8
i have older supercomp race mufflers..."header mufflers"...honestly, i didnt pay anything for them..a friend of mine was building a 56 chevy a while back, and he went to 4 inch...so he gave me his system from the chevy...i would say that they are 11 years old or so... and since PennDOT doesnt allow my car on the street anymore, i took it off because its just dead weight...i run alsmot the exact same times with and without the pipes..i contribute what little different there is to the weight, since my entire system drops in two pieces from the header back. the front side is offset, and the rear is centered, but prior to welding the system to them, you could look "straight through" them, but at an angle...and if im not mistaken, chambered would not be a straight through muffler, correct?

I don't know who makes Amrican Thunder. As far as I know all Flowmasters are chambered, what model do you have?

American Thunder is a Flowmaster Series
Hey- Yeah american thunder is a flowmaster type theres just differnt kinds you know. I'm just a girl i don't know a whole lot about this. My car is a 1997 3.8 coupe series 2. If that helps you any. I don't know many people who own a camaro so it will be sort of hard to get advice that way. I just want a good exhuast system that sounds decent and not too obnoxciously loud and spendy. i would show you a picture of what im looking at but i dunno how to do that? But i know obviously that no matter what i do i wont get the v8 sound. is edelbrock expensive?
