allexhaust pros,, i need help on deciding what kind of exhaust system i would need for my 1982 camaro to get that powerful aggressive sound on my 350,,

 

I have catbacks on my stock 92 305. I've yet to hear a better sounding car.

I can't get enough of it.

 

I've got eldelbrock headers to a flowmaster (don't know the series) but it sounds better than I expected from my 305

 

flowmaster 80 series cat back, and upgrade the headers and y-pipe and install a high flow cat. probably want to go with a 3" y pipe and pipe to the cat, as the cat back system is 3" as well. it will give you a good tone, louder and not as much back fire on deceleration

 

I have a mufflex y-pipe off of my lt headers and then into a edlebrock exhaust and sounds great better than flowmaster.

thanks guys,, right now i have stock mainfolds, stock y pipe runing to a dual muffler off of some truck i guess, and its sounds like **** i barely can hear it,, it sounds no louder then the stock muffler

 

I have a 305, and the thing sounded beast without a muffler, but it was almost too much. Like you almost had to yell to be heard, and sitting in the passenger seat got hot. I got a dynomax super turbo exhaust system, and I'm very pleased. It has gotten much quieter, but only when idling/ in the 1500 rpm range. If you give it a little throttle, it's majorly responsive, and I still get the great muscle sound that I love. The sound has also been shifted to the rear of the car instead of under the middle of it (obviously) and this alone is a great improvement. What sound are you going for? The american thunder series of flowmaster is also pretty nice, although I had a hell uva time when summit lied and said it would fit mine.
