You have a 383 with a 4 speed, right?. Do you know what the engine red-lines at? The stroker makes gobs of torque at low rpm's, so I wouldn't be very concerned with an intake that performs from idle-up. And with a manual trans, you'll be keeping the rpm's well within the operating range of the Speed Warrior intake. You can prolly guess which way I'm leaning. Just check your dome clearance, as that one is another .75" taller than the street version.

well im siwtching to a 2-4 inch cowl so im not too concerned with clearance
engine its built for a redline between 5500 and 6000, i would think hed have been able to give me a better number but thats what he said, ive yet to have a chance to tear it apart and figure out what rod lengths and springs are in there, he cliams theres 1.6 rollers and its got hedman heads, but those will be swithed to some darts more than likely, i like the street avenger,,,, just the look and reveiws of it

Hedman heads? You mean Hedman Hedders? And why Dart heads? If you're thinking about going with aluminum heads, AFR would be a better choice. I ran numbers on my Desktop Dyno just for fun, and the AFR's showed the best gain (50 h.p.) over the iron heads I have now, and better than other aftermarket heads as well. Might not be quite that much, as my heads have received a good workover, but still. And the 195cc intake runners showed better gain than the larger ones did. Bigger isn't always better, at least in this case. Those performance claims have also been confirmed by other experienced guys I know and spoke to. Take that for what it's worth, but AFR's are on my wish list. 50 horsies and lighter weight...Christmas is coming, keep me in mind!

If you havn't bought your intake yet. I believe rule of thumb is to match your cam with the intake,if you call who ever you bought the cam from they can tell you. I to am running a 383 and World Intakes in Jegs makes one specific for 383's,little pricey though.I went with the Weind Team G for the rpm range and it's air gapped.

Stick with a duel plane. Their is no specific 383 intake. Why have an intake that works from 3000 to 8000 rpm on a street engine that will spend its time at idle to 5500. I have a Performer RPM and will be swapping it out for a Air Gap when my taxes come. I have a Victor JR. but won't use it. My engine is well built and can handle 7000 rpm, but I don't peg it to the floor every time I leave a stop.

Its about making torque for me. HP sells engines Torque wins races.

From what i was told my engine should have no problem spinning up to 7k, will it hit that often? eh maybe every time i hit the track itll get close, but for everyday if it would be good to 5500 then id be happy,,, so go with a dual plane? Any specific suggestions?
Idk if im even doing this now cuz i might just be throwing a sc on it
