Default modernizing the 1979 z28 help help

father and son project and I need some advice. I redid the 350 great..went with a 700r4. if i stay with factory gauges how will speedo work? car has 17 inch wheels and 410 gears. would like know about custom gauges..will they work with fActoryplug ins? IM really bad with wiring so splicing might drive me nutts. is it possible to have factory speedo work with 700r4 and different gears and make it work. we want car to be like stock except with the fancy wheels and 700r4...also have a 1980 z flapper hood on it any way to make it open when i nail it?

The speedomiter should work fine, what you'll need to do to have an accurate speedomiter is change the speedomiter driven gear in the tail housing of the transmission for your new higher gears and bigger tire size, http://www.transmissioncenter.net/sp...n_______va.htm
this site tells you just about all you should need for the gear stuff.
