Engine cranks but does not start

gona have to play with the timing and the carb. what kind of trany is it?

I think it is a hydro-matic 200 4-speed. i found out my torque converter is bad. the rear axle, drive line, and torque converter were all replaced.

ahh so the converter was locked all the time. havent see that one.

Could be an electrical issue not telling the torque converter to unlock, and not necessarily the t.c. itself.
Unless you know for sure that it is bad.

I'm not completely sure, but i think i'm gonna replace it anyways.
What else could it be?

The torque converter is not frozen, i put my finger in the TC and the gears move fine. but it still might freeze up when it is at high speeds. it might be the transmission but there were almost no metal shavings in the pan.

sorry about changing the subject but i am in the process of getting my camaro paint and i cant find a gunmetal black spray paint for some body parts. Would it be ok to use the gunmetal black spray i have for my rims on the car.

i am having the same problem with mine haha...but i dont have gas going in my carb either... try replacing ur modulator. when you take ur cap off take the rotor out also its a kinda rectangular peice usualy black. let me know if you get urs started and how

thats a igniton modual. good idea to have a extra with screwdriver in the glove box.

im haveing the same problem i was told that its probably the timing chaing/ and or gears, also it could be your harmonic balancer... im taking my car to a buddy of mine since he has the tools and ill let you know how mine goes...let me know if you get urs started before i get back to you and what did you do to get it started
