Default Automatic th350 to Manual swap

I want to change my Camaro's transmission to a manual.

I have a 350 v8 engine, Th350 3-speed (with floor shifter, not column).

I'm not sure what types of transmissions I can put in there, I know theres a 4-speed Muncie (is that right?), but maybe a newer 5-speed would be cool too. Whichever performs better.

How easy is this to do? I think this would be a pretty cool idea, Manuals are so much more fun than automatic.

i just changed my 79 trans am from auto to a 4 speed, it wasnt bad at all, i was dreading to cut the hole in the floor for the shifter but if u will leave the shifter bracket on the tranny when u install it in the car it will stick up through the original auto shifter cable hole so u can see where and how much to cut

Some ideas to consider:

A 4 speed will keep to the originality of the car.

A modern 5 or 6 speed will give better street and highway drive-ability.

Also, remember a change like this takes away from the originality (even going to a 4 speed) and may hurt the resale value of the car. I'm guessing though, this is a second gen Camaro?
