the seats are Ok not top of the line..PITA to mount.
Spent a few hours this morn sanding the bottom of the hood. I'm not doing any bodywork there just scuff and spray. But I found a surprise. Everyone using a steel hood should check it out. I would not have noticed if I wasn't sanding by hand.

I've been a advocate of lubricating hinge pivot points often! Seems to be a item that most car owners forget when they're doing maintenance. I was no exception, and found when I changed hoods on mine that I couldn't compress the hinges without a lot of effort.
I hot the pivot points with lube and wa shocked at the difference it made! I think some of the cracking issues may be years of neglect in lubing the hinges.

lube was probably an issue. Where it broke it looks like factory "crumple areas" Each side is V notched in two places. I'm guessing in case of front end damage the hood will fold rather than shoot through the windshield.

My Z hood did the same thing. Plus rust. Good catch.

I sanded the hood this AM. When the sun rose and gave some heat I went out to work on the dash. I guess I will have to live with the top reveal.
The cap is very pretty and new looking. Made everything else look dingy! Pulled it all apart again. Scrubbed with clorox and repainted. Somewher in it's life a soda or a coffee went down into the dash. Theres all kinds of sticky goo there.
If I post up the cowl tag, can someone read it for me? I think this was a blue car with a blue interior once.

I think this is a Z hood. It's not from the same year as the car. Teardrop shaped cowl with a rear electric flap? Sound right?
