Adjusted valves, got timing set, drove up and down road 2 miles bring RPM up to 2500 and then letting off and slowing on compression. Changed oil, every thing looks and sound good. The one little tic that I hear, has something to do with the power steering pump ( push on pump and sound starts to go away).
Should be close enough. Just don't go any less with the new style lifters that have the wire clips. The snap ring retainer lifters were/are much better, and can be run looser without flying apart.

Found the "tic". Of all things it was the front header bolt that holds part of the PS bracket. When I retightened the header bolts I tightened the outer nut (its a double nut, one on each side of the bracket), took bracket off, tightened inner nut, reinstalled bracket, no more "tic".

Got the car street legal, so I've been trying to get some miles on it. Got a total of 40 on it so far and its running great. Looking forward to getting a couple hundred on it so I can start pushing its limits some.
Wont hurt to push it a little even during break in Bill. I have always run mine out a bit and given them a variety of driving during break in. Bet it's fun to have a nice gear ratio, and a new tight engine now! More smiles per mile!
