Peal and seal, seems like the same thing. I'll research prices tho first. I think one of the real ones was close.

 

Used the Home Depot stuff for my Camaro, and my Austin. Not the crappy asphalt based stuff, the gray dense foam stuff that's in the HVAC section for heat ducts. It was $16 for a 12"x15' roll, and works as good as anything I've ever used.

I am bummed I didn't know about peel n seal. I bought a 100 sq ft of dynamat. Not cheap stuff. I was going to try the Lowes stuff on my pick up before getting it on my Camaro.

 

$20 a roll for 15 sq ft is $140 for 105 sq ft. I'll have to see what is out there for prices and figure out which way to go. I'd like to use peel and seal on the whole cab, and the foam stuff on top of it on the floor.

 

I just checked I paided $150 for 36sq of Dynamat.

 

Took one roll to do my tiny Austin gasser, including the barrier between trunk and pass. cabin. Took me two rolls plus part of a third to do the Camaro, so at the time about $50 for 3 rolls. It's 1/3 to 1/4 of Dynamat prices.

 

I think 100 sq ft is what it takes to do a camaro doors, floors, rear seat and roof one layer.

 

Damn I'm gonna break the bank then. i want to do the inside of the 1/4's and the trunk lid. Lizard skid was my plan for that area. That stuff ain't cheap either, plus a gun to spray it.

 

I didn't do the roof. Was afraid that any sound deadener on the roof might let go someday, and drop against the headliner. Didn't do the trunk either. Just painted it, and then coated that with the speckled trunk coating.

 

I'll be doing the roof, I've seen alot of people do it, and never heard about it falling yet so I hope I won't be the first one.

The color is up in the air again. I saw a picture of a red Z28, showed the wife, and we are both liking it... sigh. I suppose that there is a long ways to go though before we need to settle for sure.

Spent an evening in the garage, I pulled the regulator and window channels out to clean them up. Wow is there a bunch of hardened up crud in there. Got them all cleaned out and shiny again. I am also going to pull the locks, handles and mechanism out to clean it all up. Any tips on getting the latch mechanism out. I could not get the three phillips screws to crack loose, I even tried fire. I hit them with some PB Blaster and will just do that for a couple of days. I'm going to wire wheel the insides of the doors all down and hit them up with some primer while I'm working on it. I'll do one door at a time here, after that if I'm not putting an engine in or starting bodywork, I'll probably rip the dash out of the car and clean up and paint all of the brackets under there.
