This sucks, no progress on my project. I need to see what can be done about the holes in the floor and fix them before I can move on in that direction. If I did not have to fab something I would try and weld a pan in myself. I need something along the lines of this:



I'm sure it could be made easily enough, if nothing happens by the time I get back from Louisville I'll just have to try and make something out of cardboard and see if I can duplicate it with some steel. I'll need a bit of 20 gauge, all I have is some 16 though. I just want to get the POR15 done, and the soundproofing done and move on to the bodywork and the wiring.

 

Nothing wrong with going heavier on your patch material. Easier to weld and lasts longer too! I'd cut that piece out and at least get the donor patch cut and bent to fit. Then give her a try at welding it if you feel brave. Wose thing that could happen is you'd get the father in law to come finish it if you decide it's too much.
looks like you might get by with a smaller patch than outlined. That's a pretty minor rust area compared to many.

 

I've heard of people putting something under the holes and just filling the holes with weld beads? i'm not sure what goes under the holes maybe someone else heard of this before? that way you could fill them in and grind it then POR it quicker and as good as a fab or patch.
