Takes a lot of fluid for a complete change, but not nearly as much for just draining and refill. I think it's a few quarts though. But thaqt may be a slightly deeper sump pan.

It's a good number. I want to say 12 but that sounds off.

I don't think you're off for a dry tranny, I believe it's 11 qts. dry.
edit-OK, so I just checked the book. It's two quarts for a tranny change when you just drop the pan, but another 3rd qt. if you drop the screen. If you have a dry tranny it's 7 qts., then run it at fast idle for a few minutes and add 3 more qts., then check the level.

I must've misread somewhere. I thought he had drained it completely.

Oh? I thought he just pulled the pan to get the dipstick tube piece out?

Cool thanks guys

the tranny was full then leaked from the bottom of the dipstick when i cracked it then i drained the pan to get the piece out

Well did a little patch job on the pass floor, looks like crap if you ask me lol but it works. i think im gonna get someone else to put in the full pan on the drivers side .

it doesnt look bad to me im gonna be patching alot of the floor pan in my 73 duster to get it ready to sell and i havent really welded much before gonna take some practice and alot of grinding

Get yourself a right angle grinder, and you can smooth down even the ugliest of welds. A little seam sealer and paint, and you'll hardly see it....especially with the carpet on!
