what mods to buy for 327
whats up everyone Im gong to rebuilt my 327 just had some questions. This is myfirst time ever rebuilding or modifying any engine. I am planing on chainging only my cam, headers, intake and carb. Question is what shouldI get those are the only things that im going to replace. Any help is appreciated.I want to be able to put the bigest parts that I can with out replacing headspistons etc.
well, my 327 in my 74 Z28 is pushing 440 HP without my N.O.S. A 490 lift cam, with new high performance pushrods, springs, roller lift or hydrolic lift will work fine, a 750 CFM carb is not too big, but any bigger and your wasting fuel, the best intake for that engine is the RPM performer " air gap " from edelbrock. Change your rings as well, and a good platinum plug. timing gears instead of a chain will prevent further adjustments, sounds good too lol... a 3 inch exhaust with good headers will let it breath better with a bigger carb and intake. thats just some simple mods to do to get some pretty good gains. if you want real performance, get new heads, bore it out, racing pistons etc...
