I have 383 stroker in a 73 chevy and it is very reliable... its made probably 20 passes at the strip and i drive it probably 50 miles a week on the street... big blocks are cool but i like the 383 bc you can spin it so high... i used the eagle stroker kit with forged crank, speed pro pistons and rods, and a custom ground cam from comp cams and couldnt be happier, on the dyno it pulled 525 hp, and 570 torque... all Naturally Aspirated....good luck
Griff,
Thanks for the compliment. I can' t take credt for the build, I bought it that way. The car is new to me and it seems every time I look at it I see something new and neet that I haven't seen before. The guys that built it had a ton of talent and vision. If you can somehow post some pictures I would appreciate it
Thanks
David

i am a small block kind of guy and i would get a 400sbc stroke it to a 421sbc. Brodix heads long tube headers with a forged bottom in and 11to compression and you could run a 150hp shot all day and still get decent mpg and be closer to 600hp i have done. never ran the quirter because there isn't one around here but it would run the 5.80s all day
