I dont know how I'm going to narrow it down lol. I mean I cant really decide if its worth it to spend a little more and get as much HP as possible...or if I should try to stay within my budget. I just dont want to kick myself later for making the wrong decision lol. The other thing, is that I need to figure out the balance between cost of a new engine and HP/torque and the strength of my current drive train/getting a new one.

well its up to you if you wanna spend the extra or if u can..its pretty much comes down to money and streetability (if u wanna use it mainly on the street)

well i believe if you go over 400hp you will need to upgrade your rear end if you plan on stomping it often..do you have a turbo 400 or 350?

well there's always the option of more power and blowers but you have limits with money and the cars main usage so if you decide on an engine after alot of research and weighing your options then you wont regret your engine. and anything will be better than the stock 350 too

ya gotta pay if you wanna play lol

Actually I have a factory 4 speed manual (Muncie...I think its an M-21 or M-22). I do want it to mostly be streetable, but It'd be nice to have the power when I need it. So yeah, really anything over 450 HP will be more than the stock trans can handle, and probably more than I need. I (only) have 275 tires on the back lol, not massive racing tires...enough to get good grip on the road but with too much HP and torque it would be wasted at the tires.

oh nice, yeah the muncie is stronger i think than the autos..well unless your gonna race at the track alot, you will want it to be streetable. you can still go up too around 450-500hp and be streetable but yeah you will need upgraded suspension and rear with posi..i plan on having 10" rear wheels and probably 11-12" with rear tires

that 375hp 350 or 430-450hp 383 are pretty good prices too and would make a good streetable ride with some nice power the guy will build a custom engine for ya too at a good price too

Yeah, the manuals are stronger than the auto's. And it has a factory posi in it too But even with that combination, it'll only put so much power to the ground, so I dont plan on going much over 450 HP.

You might look at 275 (width) tires. There about 10 inches wide. Thats what I have on mine and that's about all that'll fit without tubbing the rear fenders...and I already have fender flares on mine lol.

yeah thats what i thought oh nice! does it have a 12 bolt or 10? and you could always swap in lower gears too and get some harder launches but will hurt your highway driving lol

yeah true, you would to upgrade your suspension..you can have lots of hp even without radials and still put alot of power to the ground

and you will need subframe connectors and traction bars

i have fender flares on mine too..well i want atleast 10" wide tires but 11" would be even sweeter lol..my cousin has a 69 camino with 15" wide tires on his car and no tubs..i dont know how he fitted them lol

I believe its 10 bolt but I'm not entirely sure on that one. Im pretty sure the care is a Z-28...cause they were pretty much the only ones that came with the 350, a 4 speed muncie, and posi rear end...but the guy I bought it from (a family friend) said the original owner (the guy he bought the car from, had trouble getting the car set up the way it is, which to me sounded like it might have been a special order...so who knows...unfortunately its not in the vin # for that year.

Wow...15"?? thats crazy! 11 would be sweet. You may be able to get them on yours depending on your offset and how wide your fender flares are.

I wish I knew what gears it had. I'll have to see what the engine code is and I should be able to determine what the car is and what trans/gears it came with.
