Well I spend some time on the Camaro this afternoon. Got her to light off, but had to use a little break clean to keep her runnin. Pulled the gas tank and carb off. Probably get a carb rebuild kit tomorrow and do that and get it back on the car. Then Monday take the gas tank down and have it hot tanked to eliminate all the crap in there. But at least I know she runs for now! Oh and I found the original build sheet on top of the gas tank!
It came with the L-65 350ci engine, an M-20 rear end with a 3.08 ratio (I'll probably change the gears to make it 4.11), 4spd manual trans. I still cant tell what the car is though (SS, RS, or Z28). It appears to me to be an SS.

It's not a Z28 or SS if it came with the L-65,could be a Rally Sport though.

you should email the guy at ross automotive machines and see how much to make it a turn key package and he's got free shipping and you can customize it if you want but the patriot performance is nice too

check to see what compression the 383 has at ross automotive, i think its 10:1 which is a lil lower than the patriot which would help with using premium gas

Hmm...I dont know then...because it doesnt seem to have the front end of an RS...It has the front turn signals below the bumper...so maybe its none of the options? lol or maybe it was changed.

Yeah, it's probably going to be between one of the 383's they're a little more expensive but I'd like to do it the way I want the first time. Just e-mailed them (Ross Automotive), so we'll see what they say. Do you know if they use GM blocks? It doesnt really specify. And on that particular engine it doesnt say what the compression ration is.

Wow...just got an e-mail back from them and they want 5000 for the engine as a turn key engine...the Patriot Performance engine is cheaper, and has more HP. Although I guess that engine isnt turn key either...

yeah they use GM blocks. you gotta email them for specific specs but they have good customer service

well the patriot peformance isn't a turn key but you could just reuse the alt and pulleys from your 350 but you will probably want a new starter and carb

the 383 from ross might have a lil less compression too though

That's true...I could just use all the old brackets as well as the alt and pulleys...but yeah a new starter and carb would definitely be a must. (especially since I only have a 2bbl now lol). If I get the one from Ross's I'd probably get this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SB-CH...ht_2273wt_1099 It's the same price as the other one, but its 450HP and its turn key as well.
